Product Description
Description
The Indirect Tensile Strength Loading Jig to NZTA T19 is purpose designed and manufactured to enable easy and efficient ITS testing of stabilised road base aggregate samples, as per the NZTA T19:2020 Specification.
The purpose of NZTA T19 specification is to assist with the procedure of determining the optimum type and quantity of binders used for stabilising pavements, with intention of producing test samples closely replicating post construction field densities. The strength testing is also used to determine the improved properties of stabilised aggregates in the field.
The Indirect Tensile Strength (ITS) is determined by measuring the ultimate load to failure of a test specimen that is subjected to a constant rate of 1 ± 0.1 mm/min (or 50.8 ± 0.1 mm/min for foamed bitumen mix design) on its diametrical axis.
For complete laboratory apparatus to NZTA T19 specification we recommend the additional equipment:
- Sample divider of the multiple slot type
- Water bath with thermostatic temperature control
- Long jaw calipers
- Loading machine with 100 kN cap. for ITS and UCS testing
- Drying oven in accordance with NZS 4407
- Mechanical Pugmill type mixer
